Prism Career Institute is dedicated to preparing students for rewarding, in-demand healthcare careers. For our practical nursing program students in Philadelphia, PA, Cherry Hill, NJ, and West Atlantic City, NJ and medical assistant program students in Cherry Hill and West Atlantic City, this includes in-depth instruction, hands-on experience, and support that goes far beyond the classroom with Career Services.

Our Career Services Department works with every graduate to help them achieve the career they’ve always dreamed of. Although we can’t guarantee employment, we are here to assist with identifying PN and medical assistant career options, networking, and much more.

The Assistance We Provide

Not every PN or medical assistant will take the same path in his or her career. Accordingly, we recommend that all students make an appointment with our Career Services Department to discuss their goals. Students should reach out before completing their programs of study. However, we encourage graduates to stay in touch throughout their job search and to inform us of the job offers they receive and accept.

While Career Services cannot replace the need to seek employment, our team can be a trusted guide during the search. We assist in many areas during the transition from training to professional life, including:

  • Resume and cover letter writing
  • Identifying suitable employment opportunities
  • Obtaining a job interview through our network of established contacts, which includes employers and employment agencies
  • Interview technique training
  • Developing networking, customer service, and professionalism skills

Our team is committed to the success of every student as they explore PN and medical assistant career options. You’ll be well-prepared to find a job in the healthcare field upon graduation, but you’ll never have to do so alone.

Gaining Valuable Experience

All medical assistant students are required to complete a medical assistant externship, while practical nursing students must complete a period of clinical training. These out-of-classroom experiences allow our students to apply the knowledge and skills they’ve acquired through their studies in real-life situations.

Prism Career Institute’s Career Services Department plays a large role in helping our students meet these mandatory requirements. They can expect to be placed at an established healthcare facility or clinic, ranging from private clinics and laboratories to large hospitals. While there, students will be immersed in a hands-on educational experience to build key skills they can take into job interviews, preparing them for future success in the field.

Students are also encouraged to explore volunteering opportunities, internships, and other temporary job assignments while completing their education at Prism Career Institute. Doing so allows them to gain valuable experience and may form connections that can lead to permanent positions after graduation.

PN and Medical Assistant Career Options

Prism Career Institute cannot guarantee employment placement for any graduate. However, the advice and guidance you’ll receive from our Career Services Department and a robust classroom education will qualify you for positions in the healthcare industry across a variety of settings.
